2023 NAPLAN
We are so proud of the school’s NAPLAN results this year. We have continued the progress we made last year by doing better than 'like schools’ in all areas and in both Year 3 and 5. In particular, our year 3 students equalled the national average in writing, an outstanding effort and the first time it has happened. Our wonderful staff ensure that Middle Swan students are getting maximum opportunity to be the best that they can be.
School App
Along with Connect, the school app is the key means of communication, with parents and carers, i.e. when there is a need to evacuate to a safer place in the case of fire. And it is the means we inform you that your child has not attended school on any day. If you do not have the app you are missing out on better communication from the school. It is easy to download and use. If you need more information on how to access the app, please contact Ms Ireland in the front office.
Every now and then there are incidents in all schools that are managed internally and not communicated widely. Such events are not reported beyond the school gate for a variety of reasons. If the school wants to inform parents that there has been an issue it may be sent as a text on the school app, however the message will be brief and not go into detail. If there is a need to speak with individual parents, or a child requires your support, then please be assured you will be rung.

Pre-Primary Open Classroom Afternoon
Last Thursday afternoon, the Pre-Primary classrooms opened their doors a little early so that parents and caregivers could come in and see some of the things we get up to at school.
We have been learning the ‘Bear Hunt’ story this term, so we took the opportunity to perform it in front of a live audience! Parents were also able to work with their children to make bear cookies and a paper plate bear face. The children LOVED having some of the special people in their lives come in and spend some time with them in the classroom.
